  • Sons of Geometry: Lightstrands

    https://sonsofgeometry.bandcamp.com/track/lightstrands

Hove you ever just clicked on something randomly and been blown completely away? Yeah, so I get tons of emails from Bandcamp and this was a seemingly random suggestion, presented to me amongst many other albums. Something about the name, Sons of Geometry, just screamed at me, “THIS IS SOMETHING YOU WILL LIKE!”

So, I don’t know anything about this project and there doesn’t seem to be much online in the way of links to check out. The short bio simply reads, “Exploration into the depths of improvised, modular synthesis.” And what more do we need, really?

  • Radio Bauhaus: Electronic Music for Projects #Techno

    https://radiobauhaus.bandcamp.com/album/electronic-music-for-projects-8

This compilation contains 10 tracks from the artists of Radio Bauhaus. It is described as a collective project that shares selected electronic music. Their website ( https://radiobauhaus.org/ ) holds a ton more interesting content, including several documentaries.

#Techno is part of the Radio Bauhaus “Electronic Music for Projects”, with seven other releases each focusing on a different aspect of electronic music. There’s Industrial, Downtempo, and Minimal… just to name a few. And they’re all worth checking out.

  • Kyoka: Is (Is Superpowered)

    https://raster-raster.bandcamp.com/album/is-is-superpowered

Part of this blog is about finding new music. The other side is diving back and sharing old favorites. This album was released on May 5th, 2014, which is right around the time I started producing music as Clone 334.

Every time I listen to Is (Is Superpowered), I hear something new. The production is jam packed with raw energy. While it doesn’t fall directly in line with “traditional” techno, it belongs right there along side of it. These tracks could all easily be thrown into a playlist or DJ set to add variety and progression. You have to hear this one.

  • 01100110: Drums in the Deep EP

    https://flashrec.bandcamp.com/album/drums-in-the-deep-ep

FLASH Recordings is one of my favorite labels to get new techno. Headed by Florian Meindl, the label focuses on underground techno. It’s gear driven and you can check out his studio quite often on twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/flashlab_92

This release is from 01100110, which I believe is pronounced as “Zero Eleven Zero,” according to the Bandcamp page. The release is labeled as an “EP”, featuring only 5 tracks. But, clocking in at over 30 minutes, this is closer to an album in my opinion and definitely worth the listen.

  • Brey Blackwell: Bloodletting / Molecular Exile

    https://breyblackwell.bandcamp.com/album/bloodletting-molecular-exile

I recently viewed a stream from Headless Blood Idol on Twitch. It featured a bunch of excellent electronic artists. You can find out all about HBI on their site, https://headlessbloodidol.com/

One of the featured artists was Brey Blackwell, with these two absolute peak techno bangers. Crunchy, solid, and hard hitting. Definitely check this one out.

  • BioFusion: From the Soul

    https://moatun7.bandcamp.com/album/from-the-soul

Móatún 7 is a label from Iceland that focuses on ambient techno and IDM. It was founded by Futuregrapher in 2018 and has a ton of releases to check out.

I recently grabbed “From the Soul” by BioFusion, which was released on June 1st of 2024. The physical copies are all sold out, but the digital download is well worth the 7 euro price.

The tracks are all lightweight, grooving, and uplifting. The album title seems incredibly accurate for this one.
